That could have been easier

When selling our house, a five-minute tree-trimming estimate took almost five days to get. That idea eventually became QuoteTxt.

When we were selling our house a few years ago, I needed a large crepe myrtle in front of our house trimmed. I called around 4 companies, heard back from 2 or 3, and finally had someone come out almost 5 days later to quote me around $500.

The estimate itself took maybe 5 minutes.

I remember thinking: there has to be an easier way to do this.

That idea eventually became QuoteTxt.

The goal is simple: help service businesses get better information faster — photos, scope, details, timing — so they can understand a job before driving out or quoting blind.

We think good service starts before the job even begins. Homeowners should be able to explain a project naturally and on their own time. Contractors should be able to quickly decide whether a job is worth quoting, scheduling, or driving out for.

Technology finally makes that easier for smaller local businesses too, not just massive companies with expensive software teams.

That’s really the goal of QuoteTxt: helping local service businesses get the information they need faster, without making the quoting process harder for anyone involved. - Mike / Founder / QuoteTxt
